Two trains have collided at the Lynross Railway Station in Rosslyn, Pretoria, on Monday evening. More than 100 people are reported to have been injured. Rail services have been disrupted.
Metro Rail spokesperson, Lillian Mofokeng says they are still trying to determine the cause of the accident.
"I can confirm that at around 18:05 this evening we had two trains that collided with each other. One was coming from Pretoria and the other was coming Ga-Rankuwa. We don't know the details of what happened however we can confirm that we have people that are injured, more than 100 people. We will prioritise and assist them with emergency services. No fatalities have been reported up until now."
She says both trains were full at the time of the accident.
Mofokeng says no fatalities have been reported and emergency services are still on the scene.
